Can someone please post /etc/apt/sources.list contents, as I can't reproduce the crash it's impossible to solve from this backtrace. It seems to be related to which repositories you are using but still not sure about that. Thanks.

Thanks Pascal, The bug was indeed caused by the sources.list file, but it's not a KPackageKit bug, it's actually an aptcc bug: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::logic_error' what(): basic_string::_S_construct NULL not valid Aborted The daemon crashed and the smartIcon didn't received a proper message. As I'm the aptcc maintainer too I'll have to fix this :P Best.

Still, shouldn't kpackagekit be fixed to be more robust in face of aptcc bugs?

(In reply to comment #25) > Still, shouldn't kpackagekit be fixed to be more robust in face of aptcc bugs? Sure, I've fixed packagekit-qt so that bugs like these won't happen again. Aptcc was also fixed, when there is a new package I'll update this bug report.
