Minding my own business. Just logged on (Maverick, upgraded from Lucid recently), and after maybe 10 mins, the crash came up. Has happened several times.

kpackagekitsmarticon (0.6.2) on KDE Platform 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1) using Qt 4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I was just doing my stuff and after 5 to 10 Minutes it crashes. I upgraded Kubuntu to 10.10 End of October.

Same experience, I believe it happens when kpackage starts automaticly to look for updates, for I haven't had update-notices in the tray for more then a week although it's set foor weekly check.

Please disable extra repos until packagekit-backend-aptcc isn't updated
But keep maverick and maverick-update

As you can see it's duplicated of a fixed bug, you just need to wait for the update to reach the repositories.
