Description Joern Ossowski 2004-05-03 13:42:33 UTC
Version: 2.2.1 (using KDE 3.2.2, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.2 (Mandrake Linux 10.0 3.3.2-6mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22-10mdkcustom

indent with ctrl+i works fine but unindent with ctrl+shift+i has no effect
Comment 1 Dominik Haumann 2004-05-03 15:16:11 UTC
This is because the shortcut is assigned twice.
Example: If you have running kopete, do the following in kopete's mainwindow:
1. Settings -> "Configure Global Shortcuts"
2. change shortcut for "Read Message" (CTRL+SHIFT+I)

Can I borrow your crystal ball? ;-)

How do you know this user was using Kopete?

best,
Jeroen

The following to bugs are about the same issue:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78311
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65514

Though I may be wrong!
@Joern Ossowski: If you don't use kopete or another application that uses CTRL+SHIFT+I as well, *please* REOPEN this bug and tell us!

Thanks :)

Hi!

Thank you for your fast response. I am really using kopete. I had no idea
if that would/could be a problem. Will there be a solution for that? Or a
tool where you can see if you have a conflict with global and local
shortcuts?

Thank you for your help

Joern

It is likely that your are running an application that is stealing this shortcut, for example one that is represented in the system tray. For example kopete is using this shortcut. If that is the case, change the shortcut in the guilty application, and close this bug.

Because kopete is the only known app to hijack c-s-i :)

Really? I had this bug for a while with KDevelop, it magically disappeared
though. Anyway, I thought the user is presented a pop-up menu when multiple
shortcuts are assigned to a single action.

best,
Jeroen
