Version: 3.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux I tried to unindent a selection of text using the keyboard shortcut Shift+Control+I, and then tried again with Edit->Unindent. Neither produced any result. I then tried the same process on a single line, unselected, again with no result. It seems as if the option and shortcut are there in the menu, but with no action defined to it.
Assigning to the Kate developers.
Yea, this is bugging me to, I'll see if i can find out why.
I tried turning debug messages for kaccel on, and it simply does not react to CTRL + SHIFT + I in my setup. After setting a different shortcut it works, but that is unsatisfying. I hear from other users that it works for them. I'm using a danish keyboard (Generic PC/105 keys) I think this may be a configuration issue.
Well, it seems like this is caused by running an application that uses this shortcut in its tray icon. In my case Kopete. I couldn't find a way to configure the shortcut in kopete, but i have yelled at them in their irc channel.
final note: in kopete, use "configure global shortcuts" to change the interferring shortcut :)
Someone really ought to come up with to discover what app is grabbing a certain shortcut. This is very frustrating.
