Apologies - I did not click on a link when Kontact crashed, I tried to reply to an email. I have now tried again, and Kontact crashes again.
Comment 2 Laurent Montel 2012-09-12 09:00:27 UTC
Fixed in 4.9
Comment 3 Rob Berends 2012-09-13 15:08:13 UTC
Thank you very much!
We're running Kubuntu 12.04.1 (Long Term Support version).
Is it safe for us to update from 4.8.4 to 4.9? Should we do that for KMail,
and/or for Kontact, and/or for KDE?
If you get the impression that we don't know that much about computers and/or
software: you're right!

Thanks for all your help.

Comment 4 Laurent Montel 2012-09-13 16:07:47 UTC
I don't know quality of kubuntu package.
But we release a 4.9.1 and I use it all the time so for me it's better than 4.8.4

or perhaps upgrade to 4.8.5.
