Could you please install the debug packages for the kdeplasma-package, or for the comic package if there is one in your repository?
@Matthias: Have a look at bug 269643, it contains a backtrace with most of the debug packages installed.
I can't help but I am unable to reproduce this issue. Were you trying it with a fresh system (no old configs) or with existing configs? Also do you know if ===== For me it appears as if it is a Kross problem, could you (kdebindings people) please look into the bt? :)

Another one to confirm this.
Problem is no longer present in Comic Strip widget version 1.0 on: openSuSE 11.4 (32-bit) KDE Platform Version 4.6.00 (4.6.0) "release 6"
dE: what KDE version? what Qt version? what distribution? what backtrace? I suspect this is a KDE 4.6 problem with Qt 4.7. Stephan says he does not experience this crash? dE you're the most recent before Stephan so please answer the questions above, thanks in advance. Stephan, what changed from 269643?
@ Anne-Marie There were hundreds of online updates after 12 April 2011. Just naming a few of the usual suspects (with dates of updates): - libqt4 (version 4.7.1), updated 9 September - kdelibs4 (version 4.6.0), updated 25 March, 12 May and 10 October - x11-video-nvidiaG02, last updated 29 November 2011, at least 2 earlier updates (dates irretrievable) I would guess that the problem disappeared somewhere mid-year 2011. Sorry that I cannot be more precise...
I'm running KDE 4.7 on Gentoo with QT 4.7.2. The issue prominently persists when changing the update interval of the comic strip. I'm not sure how to get a BT of the whole plasma workspace. I gotta get it running form terminal somehow.
