You could put in a time system to look for new updates, similar to what exists in apper.

Right now we follow the distro's own update check schedule, But perhaps there is a way to override that if the user so chooses. Or just ignore it.

Now that we have an updates KCM in System Settings, it would be the perfect place to put this setting.

As a workaround, to receive security updates automatically, I unmark/uncheck the non-security repositories in
Discover -> Settings 

[  ] Focal (main) - neon
[  ] Focal (main) Sources - neon
[  ] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) - preinstalled-pool
[  ] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[x] Focal security (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[  ] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[  ] Focal updates (main restricted universe multiverse) 

But once a month, it will look like this:

[x] Focal (main) - neon
[x] Focal (main) Sources - neon
[x] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) - preinstalled-pool
[x] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[x] Focal security (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[x] Focal (main restricted universe multiverse) 
[x] Focal updates (main restricted universe multiverse) 


Now my problem are the bunch of flatpaks installed that are being updated ASAP. I only want my Chromium and Firefox flatpaks to automatically update, not the not so security vulnera
