When browsing a local file system using 'Files' in 'Media Sources', the contents of directories are sometimes not always automatically refreshed. I observed this twice when I extracted a zip archive containing MP3 files. The extraction created a new subdirectory containing the mp3 files. Amarok file browser was already displaying the top directory and the newly created subdirectory was not automatically displayed. Navigating away to a different folder and coming back to the directory did not help. I even switched to 'Local music' and then back to 'Files', but without any effect. The only way was to close Amarok and start it again. I don't know if something else needs to be fixed for automatically refreshing the file browser. Anyway, having a manual 'refresh' button (perhaps next to the back/forward/up/home navigation buttons) would definitely help with such situations. Reproducible: Didn't try
Is this when browsing local files or on a NFS mount? In the latter case this is a duplicate of bug 275825. In any case, both might have the same reason.
(In reply to comment #1) This is a local file system. And I think you linked the wrong bug report. Bug #275825 is about a translation and not about file browser.
Indeed, that was a typo, I meant bug 275925
I have a feeling that this is actually a problem in a lower layer component. Sometimes the new directory is not automatically displayed by Dolphin. I have to an explicit 'refresh'. Anyway, having an explicit refresh button in Amarok will certainly help in such cases.
