Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Hope this ain't a DUP, but I could not find anything. Cant believe I'm the first to file this, but here goes: Tree size of icons in Konqueror's left-hand tree-view should be customizable. This could be under "view=>icon size" without cluttering the immediately visible main menu: "View=>Icon Size=>Folder pane=>Large". Reason: Recently I installed KDE instead of Windows on my parents' computer. One of the great things in KDE for elderly users is that you can much more easily create large icon sizes, large font sizes, etc in all apps. So I put KMail, KWord all with 48x46 icons and text label below. Removed all unnecessary icons and only left a few (Send mail, Open, Save, you get the idea). My parents confirm that this is just great and they can make out the things on screen much better. Only problem left: The tree view in Konqueror is too small. While I can increase the size of icons in the file pane, the folders stay the same and there is not simple way to make them a bit larger. Would be great if this is possible in the future. Thanks for listening ;-)
The tree view icons is realy too small! Recently I also installed KDE on my parent's computer and I get the same claim. The small size of the icons become someones to be ungly (at almost icon's themes).
I confirm this. KDE is very much adjustable to the needs of visually impaired people - but there are some things left out which you cannot adjust to be big enough. Those are the tray icons in kicker (Bug 60468), the navigation bar icons (that F9 bar: Bug 117949), the kicker taskbar buttons (Bug 10233) and the icons in the tree view and file open/save dialogs. You can adjust the icons of the tree view when you change the "small icons" size in the theme file of your current icons theme from standard 22 to e.g. 32. That affects the icons in the tree view, the icons in the context menus and the icons on buttons. But it would be much more convenient and intuitive if it would be adjustable via the method described in this bug report.
I agree with this request. I have been working on the new sidebar code and thought the same thing while working on this. If I have a chance I will try to implement this too. Assigning to myself
