- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Starting muon software center to install synaptic. crashes instantly. did all updates via apt-get update; apt-get upgrade before that, because muon software updater crashes. this is a fresh install on formatted media! 11.10 kubuntu. 6 security updates are shown as being available although this simply is the ..-14 kernel update. Did try that and it instantly crashes.
