Having set the systen upgrade in motion, I was surprised to see the failiure notice come up unbidden -- i.e., with no interaction by the machine with me at all. Actually, this is a debian platform using the testing distribution,. I will say that the process had some 8~10 packages left to install. Fortunately, the installation appears to have completed itself anyway. I say "fortunately"; yet I am not actually completely certain of that as I write this. I need to state also that I am using the Synaptic upgrade manager to conduct this business.
