Description Dale Clapperton 2003-06-20 05:13:18 UTC
Version: 2.1 (using KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20020320 [FreeBSD]
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 4.8-STABLE

Using Kate in the default configuration, no special plugins, buttons disappear off the left hand side of the toolbar when documents are closed or on switching from one document to another.

To reproduce:
load Kate
Press Control-W repeatedly, most of the toolbar buttons disappear

OR:
load Kate with multiple documents open
Switch between the open documents repeatedly, most of the toolbar buttons disappear

Expected behavior:
Buttons dont disappear just because you close an open document or switch between open documents.

The toolbar buttons related to the documents are provided by the views, so they are
redrawn. They allways come back.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 60156 ***

The buttons don't always come back. I have observed this behavior consistently (over several KDE versions no less).

This bug is not a duplicate of bug 60156. That bug was only about a minor asthetic issue (although the problem in question was mentioned in comments on that bug).

This bug IS a duplicate of bug 64754, and should be marked as such. (there are several duplicates of this bug, all of them should point to the same one). I don't know how to mark it as such, maybe you need to be an admin.

Oh, sorry, I just noticed this is also a duplicate of bug 60106
