Version: 3.0.4 (using KDE 3.0.4) Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4GB it would be nice to have a possibility to specify the max bandwidth for copy actions (if they are done via some network and not locally) so that the network (interface) is not totally blocked by this single transfer. not-so-important large ftp downloads could then for instance be started with low bandwidth in order to be still able to browse the web.
I vote for this especially in kget the fileds are defined but greyed out and set to a very high value (1000 MB) - not very usefull.
Yes, please add some corresponding lever to the download dialogue. I do know that wget has the option to limit bandwidth, too.
Is this better managed centrally via the kio mechanism ( per bug 135686 ) with per-app overrides, if desired (a la keyboard shortcuts) ?
