SUMMARY: Apparently Random or Intermittent It's as if someone is holding down the keyboard key itself indefinately At first one might think its an actual issue with the keyboard itself, like a sticky Key on the Keyboard But, i have used 4 different keyboards The odds are un-likely to be the exact same keys on all four of them being faulty or sticky - thats statistically unlikely imo Known instances so far: Intermittent lower case j Intermittent space bar Intermittent 5 Intermittent Enter/Carriage return First keyboard was a PS/2 one Second Keyboard was a USB one Third Keyboard was a USB one Fourth keyboard is as PS/2 one STEPS TO REPRODUCE: Problem is Intermittant OBSERVED RESULT: One can see this clearly if one is in a notepad like kate This is not just something annoying that happens in text input fields This interferes with any/all apps i have focus upon Once the issue starts, disconnecting the keyboard makes no difference Using Default System KDE Keyboard Settings Delay: 600 ms Rate: 25.00 repeats/s ISSUE ON KDE Plasma x11: No Instance of this has ever been seen under x11 ISSUE ON KDE Plasma xWayland: YES ISSUE ON KDE Plasma Full Wayland: Unknown/Un-Tested OS Details bug Happened On: Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20210311 KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.11.4-1-default OS Type: 64-bit Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD PITCAIRN Also on KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.1 WORKAROUND: Turn Key repeat off NOTES: It should be noted that while this bug report appears to be already reported below, those previous bug reports do not specifically refer to Wayland, also due to the DATE those bugs have been reported, Im making the educated guess that those issues were noticed on x11 only. Thank you for the bug report! However Plasma 5.21.2 is no longer supported by KDE; supported versions are 5.24, and 5.26 or newer. Your distribution is responsible for providing support for older versions of KDE software.
