Description trmdi 2017-09-30 11:46:19 UTC
Say, I have the `Meta+M` shortcut for `Maximize window` (in System Settings > Shortcut > Global shortcut > Kwin)

When the Application Launcher is opening, if I press `Meta+M`, the Application Launcher will be maximized, and no way to unmaximize it. This should not happen.

Wanted behavior: when the Application Launcher is opening, press Meta+M, it would not be maximized.

Can confirm this one on Neon Unstable and OpenSuse Tumbleweed. You Need to switch launchers so it goes back to normal.
Comment 2 Kai Uwe Broulik 2017-10-12 09:17:56 UTC
I set Alt+F6 for maximizing windows, when I press this combination Kickoff just closes here.
Comment 3 Alexander Mentyu 2017-12-05 13:51:23 UTC
I set 'Maximize Window' to Meta+M shortcut and tried a few times - and Kickoff just closes, then i set 'Maximize Window' to Alt+F6 and also tried a few times and one time - Kickoff maximized upon closing - and now i set 'Maximize Window' to back and forth to Meta+M and Alt+F6 and Kickoff maximizes upon closing ~50/50

Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition - Stable Branches
Plasma: 5.11.4
Frameworks: 5.41.0
Qt: 5.9.3
Kernel 4.10.0-40-generic
Type: 64-bit

In 5.11.4, I've managed to do this with a quick tile shortcut and wound up with Kickoff taking up half my screen every time it opened.
Comment 5 Justin Zobel 2020-11-21 10:17:10 UTC
I've just tested this on plasmashell 5.20.3 and I am unable to reproduce the issue.

I have quick tile set to all of the number pad keys (except 5) for each edge/corner of the screen and I couldn't get the menu to move or change size.

Can you please test and confirm if this issue is still occurring or if this bug report can be marked as resolved. I've set the bug status to "needsinfo" pending your response, please change back to "reported" or "resolved" when you respond, thanks.

I have this issue on my end on 2 nearly identical installs on 2 different computers.
I have the Meta + UP_ARROW set for maximizing window and it is consistent on my end.
I'm running:
- OS: Archlinux 5.16.4-arch1-1
- KDE Plasma: 5.23.5
- KDE Framework: 5.89.0
- Qt Version: 5.15.2
Running Xorg
Comment 9 Nate Graham 2022-02-01 17:11:50 UTC
It only affects X11, not Wayland.
