When using ctrl-f to search, could you show a list of all matching lines along with some context, with an option to click and go to that page? This is quite useful when figure numbers are referred in a book at multiple places and finding the figure requires navigating through all previous matches.
Have you tried the search field on top of the thumbnails view? That one does filter out all pages with a match.
I didn't know of that, it is quite similar to what I wanted, thank you.
I didn't know this feature either, but it is not sufficient. Look at the "search" panel in Evince (Gnome), I am adding a screenshot (sorry, in French). It is similar similar (but better, in my opinion) to the "advanced search" tool in Adobe Acrobat (Reader).

thx for pointing out the workaround. This seems to be already in the tracker: <https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377487>
Is bug 238123 a duplicate?
Looks like it to me.

I would suggest enabling it by default, it's a very common (and very useful) feature in pdf-readers anyways. 2. Even if we don't auto-enable, there's this nice little "Options"-thing in the bottom right corner of the screen. In my opinion, it makes perfect sense to put it there. It's where I first searched for it. (after finding out it wasn't enabled by default)

I like this function of list all sentences nearby when search a keyword on the sidebar, which is easy to read on the sidebar, instead of checking per page when finding a keyword. This is different from the find function in Thumbnails. Thank you.
Maybe I am commenting on a wrong bug but this bug is the one I got when searching for "make okular highlight all search results". It would be nice to be able to see all instances of the found words on the screen at the same time, just like firefox does it when it has multiple hits near one another. I expect browser search to be very common place for people to search for words in text and that behavior is something I am very used to. Also, as a developer, I have that feature in vi/emacs/other text editors. Options in the lower right corner seems like a perfect spot to enable this behavior. See attachment for the firefox behavior.
