f25 plasma "networks" and "instant messaging" icons are invisible.

invisible icons for networking and instant messaging icons are not visible in bottom bar of f25 plasma screen.
Makes no-wired wireless install very difficult

changing Workspace settings / Desktop Theme / change default: "Fedora Twenty" to "Oxygen" makes the icons visible
Comment 1 Kevin Kofler 2016-11-12 16:59:06 UTC
Note that the Fedora theme is basically just Breeze with a different default wallpaper.
Comment 2 Martin Flöser 2016-11-12 18:12:20 UTC
No idea where exactly the problem should be, but clearly not in plasma-integration
Comment 3 Marco Martin 2016-11-17 12:08:16 UTC
does the fedora theme actually provides a plasma theme? (even if mostly empty, may be the reason for it)
Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2016-11-20 02:22:57 UTC
The fedora theme is an exact copy of breeze + customized/fedora wallpaper
Comment 5 Marco Martin 2016-11-21 16:26:16 UTC

> The fedora theme is an exact copy of breeze + customized/fedora wallpaper

maybe is outdated?
it's not necessary to copy the whole themeif you just want to change the wallpaper, only files that get actually modified should be present in a theme.
you can have a theme that even just has the metadata.desktop file and nothing else, and all the graphics will fallback to breeze
Comment 6 Rex Dieter 2016-11-21 16:34:32 UTC
We tried that approach some releases back, and... it didn't work very well, but may be we can revisit it again (probably some bugs fixed in the meantime).

As for freshness, the copies are refreshed whenever plasma-workspace is rebuilt, so the likelihood of it being outdated is small (or impossible).
Comment 7 Rex Dieter 2016-11-21 16:36:14 UTC
Reporter, you can remove doubt that 'fedora' theme is relevant, by testing 'breeze' too (in addition to oxygen as previously mentioned).
Comment 8 Alexander Mentyu 2018-02-21 09:46:54 UTC
Tried 'Fedora' and 'Breeze' themes in Fedora 27 Live KDE - IM and Notifications icons are barely but visible - if there are no contacts configured or no notifications
