I'm running Kubuntu 15.04 on a fresh install inside VirtualBox on a Windows XP SP3 host. This is simulated on a fresh Kubuntu install. In "Application Launcher Settings", I choose "Show applications by name". On the Favorites tab, I right click on one of the entries (for example, Firefox) and say "Sort Alphabetically (A-Z)". However, the applications are not sorted by application name but rather their title. Since I am showing applications by name, I would expect sorting to honor that. The bug is that sorting should honor whatever I am showing the applications as (by name or purpose) but it only sorts by purpose. For example, after sorting, I see this (parenthesis is for the smaller dark text underneath): Dolphin (File Manager) IM Contacts (Instant Messenger Contacts) Kontact (Personal Information Manager) System Settings (System Settings) Konsole (Terminal) Firefox Web Browser (Web Browser) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Application Launcher, choose "Show applications by name". 2. In Application Launcher, in Favorites, right click on an entry and choose "Sort Alphabetically (A-Z)". 3. Observer that the sorting is not alphabetical by application name (despite it being prominent) but rather by application purpose (the darker text underneath). Actual Results: The sorting is not alphabetical by application name (despite it being prominent) but rather by application purpose (the darker text underneath). Expected Results: The sorting should be by whatever is chosen (either application name or purpose).
The sort feature was removed.

There is no sort feature on favourites
Then let's use this bug report to track adding/re-adding it. :)
What would make sense to me is a three-way sort option chooser: Sort by: () Program name () Program description () Manual ordering
