I used to click on the Application Launcher (AKA Kicker), see the list of favorites and right click > sort by name since Plasma 4.x through 5.4.3.
Now on Manjaro 15.12, with Plasma 5.5.1, I can no longer do so.
Was this function removed? 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Left-click on Applications Launcher
2. See Favorites
3. Right-Click

Actual Results:  
No option to sort by name.

Expected Results:  
There used to be a sort by name.

i can confirm this: plasma 5.5.3 on kubuntu 15.10, there is no "sort by name" option

None of the alternatives have such option in 5.5.3 from what i see (Kubutnu 16.04).

Work-around: Manually drag and drop the entries.
So, changing importance from Normal to Minor.

Bug 346601 is about a feature that was available in kubuntu 15.04 running plasma 5.2 but did not work as expected.
This report is a feature request, it asks to bring back a removed feature.

Patrick is being polite. When a feature used to work and no longer does, it is a regression.

I admit with the workaround in Comment #3, it is a minor regression, but one nonetheless.

I believe they are both valid and slightly different.
 - This bug is about a recent regression (i.e. not from Plasma 4.x, but from Plasma 5.4.x), where you used to be able to right-click and sort, and can no longer.
 - Bug 346601 (IMHO) is really a complaint about the change in emphasis without a corresponding change in sort field. Most KDE distros emphasize the program category. That is, on the Kicker Application Launcher Web Browser is in the larger font, and Chromium is in the smaller font. Recently Kubuntu reversed that. But, when the sort was invoked on Kubuntu, it sorted by the apparently minor category instead of the apparently major Program Name. The ideal would be to sort on whichever is emphasized: The Program Name or the Program Category and to let the user decide what should be emphasized.
