The import window is not displaying image thumbnails (just showing the generic image icons) for Canon 7D and 550D at least, though it is OK for a Canon IXUS 980. The problem appears to have been present for all 4.x versions. Downloading thumbnails using gphoto2 works correctly.
Updated to digikam-4.2.0-5 from Fedora's updates-testing. Still seeing failures. Canon EOS 600D fails to preview both RAW and JPEG Canon S95 will preview JPEG but not RAW
And with a Canon EOS SL1 and digikam-4.2.0-5 on Fedora 20, no previews of RAW or JPEG.
