I was also putting widget on my desktop. The last one is placed ws "Remember The Milk." - Unusual behavior I noticed: When I rebooted KDE the desktop was black. Jeremy, the RTM crash could be introduced by commits around 993c568359b79c237d1590d413956e6d30a8adc4 Do you still know the code a bit to investigate why it crashes? I would also suggest to make the 'frob' lookup asynchronous, so it does not need a nested event loop, which can cause weird crashes. See bug 314016 and bug 325556. In case there is no connection, it also causes Plasma to hang forever, see bug 322431.

Same issue affecting me when RTM applet is added to the desktop. I have to delete ".kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc" and log in again in order plasma to load again. Of course, I loose all desktop settings...
