for bug 305718 and bug 305913 the workaround is to downgrade QT to 4.8.1. Seems their is a QTScript bug. Does the downgrade help?
Comment 3 fa 2012-08-31 20:54:44 UTC
Downgrade Qt.. lol ! Do you have a simple method or any useful links to help me to do that on Kubuntu 12.10 alpha3 ??

This reply should be moved to a Ubuntu forum, but here is my answer. Using aptitude you can set the versions of the packages:

libqt4-dbus (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-script (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-network (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-sql (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-xmlpatterns (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-test (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)

libqt4-sql-sqlite (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqtgui4 (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-declarative (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-scripttools (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-help (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-svg (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)
libqt4-opengl (4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4)

Comment 5 fa 2012-08-31 23:04:10 UTC
Yes but I was looking for qt4-x11 package... I'm tired.. Thank you.
Downgrading to Qt 4.8.1 solves the problem with Rekonq, Kate and KWin...
But Amarok is still unfortunately crashing...

Comment 7 Myriam Schweingruber 2012-09-02 06:01:48 UTC
What scripts do you use? Please disable them all and re-enable those selectively to identify the culprit.

Petru Ioan: this is not necessarily a bug in QtScript, I run Kubuntu 12.10 since quite some time and haven't seen this crash. But since many scripts are not maintained by us we can't guarantee them to work. So identifying the culprit is the first step.
