You're probably using fglrx?
(Disable blur and set the scale method to "smooth" in this case, "kcmshell4 kwincompositing", 3rd tab)

I confirm you that I'm using fglrx. I was using the "rapid" method now I set "smooth"

crash occured in the blur effect, which must be disabled.
smooth & fast should both be fine, where smooth will likely look better - only lanczos will break on that driver replacement ;-)
