Is there any screen shot?
more info?
What image did you see there?
Comment 2 Mathias Homann 2011-06-08 17:57:52 UTC
the screenshot is attached to this report. and no i dont have more info. choqok didnt give me more info.
All i can say is that my choqok has three twitter accounts set up and the message appears once.
Comment 3 Mehrdad Momeny 2011-06-09 08:34:20 UTC
Actually problem occurred when you want to update your friends list!
And Choqok already do this request with authorization! So, It's really weird that twitter sent this response. :/
I see this problem already, and checked the packets, and there's oauth authorization header too!
It should be a twitter problem.
Comment 4 Mathias Homann 2011-06-09 17:44:56 UTC
so... what do i do to get rid of this?
Comment 5 Mehrdad Momeny 2011-06-10 08:15:49 UTC
could you test other applications!?
Comment 6 Mathias Homann 2011-06-10 17:49:20 UTC
what other applications are you talking about... other twitter clients?
Comment 7 Mathias Homann 2011-06-11 13:38:51 UTC
ok here's something i tried:

* i unauthorized choqok in all three twitter accounts
* i deleted all three twitter accounts *in* choqok
* i added them all again

now I get the pop up three times instead of once.
Comment 8 Mathias Homann 2011-06-11 13:40:48 UTC
here's another thing I tried:

the KDE4 µBlog plasma widget works fine (or at least I do not see an error)
Comment 9 Mathias Homann 2011-06-11 13:53:13 UTC
tweetdeck works fine too.

I think that the problem is with choqok...
Comment 10 Mark Fraser 2011-06-13 16:46:44 UTC
I'm getting this with Choqok 1.1.5 and KDE 4.6.4 on Kubuntu 11.04. Does it when loading and when updating Friends list.
Comment 11 Matthias Deissenberger 2011-06-18 16:20:43 UTC
I also get this with Opensuse 11.4 and the KDE 4.7 Beta. I have one Twitter and one identi.ca account.
Comment 12 Mathias Homann 2011-06-18 17:41:59 UTC
found a way to repro other than restart choqok:

open the "send a direct message" popup, use a twitter account, hit the "refresh" button to fill the dropdown with contact names - gets you the same "needs authorization" popup.

I know this problem!
But as I said before, We already sending the authentication information, as well as other methods such as posting new tweet!
But, Twitter is doing this :/

BTW, We use a method to fetch your friends username, maybe other clients using another way, but this was the straightest way I found.

And I'm thinking to find another way. Just be patient :) thanks

hello,
i got that error annd the output of the terminal is
choqok(2777): Error at request "/1/statuses/friends.xml?cursor=-1" : "This method requires authentication."

you can reproduce by restarting the app or press more and choose update friend list

PS: i started getting this error since the first time i pressed more and choose update friend list, before that all was fine

I can add to this that since today I don't receive any direct messages (Inbox) anymore. Apart from that I can reproduce the same problems described above. Choqok 1.1, Kubuntu 11.04 (kde 4.6.4).

Me too. No DM, but I hope it will be solved soon. I am using Seismic on HTC for DM for now.

Did you try to re-authorize Choqok?
Comment 22 Martin van Es 2011-07-07 13:32:09 UTC
I did, couple of times. No improvement.

Reathorization helped. But I can only receive DM, sending does't work.
Comment 24 Jan-Bart Spang 2011-07-08 20:29:14 UTC
The error started for me when I uploaded a picture to twitpic.. I figured the authentication it was was for twitpic. So I signed into twitpic, restarted chokoq and the error did not appear.. will keep an eye out to see if this fixed it for me..

This line from Konsole output might help:

choqok(11661): Error at request "/1/statuses/friends.xml?cursor=-1"

Bug is present and NOT fixed in Kubuntu Oneiric.

- choqok shows strange error message after start: "method requires authentication".

- Twitter direct messages cannot be displayed.

- Re-authorizing in Twitter changes nothing.

The patch from comment #27 isn't present in the source Ubuntu compiled from either. I rebuilt the package with the patch applied and the problem went away.

I uploaded the patched source to my ppa. It's currently building, but should be ready to try soon. https://launchpad.net/~kachristmas/+archive/ppa/+packages
