even after completely wiping the configuration and reinstalling with the dm (inbox timeline) checked the twitter authorization dialogue does not offer DM authorization.  twitter suggest client side error. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
error on re-auth
error on re install auth

Actual Results:  
This application will not be able to:

    Access your direct messages.
    See your Twitter password.



Expected Results:  
should have access to direct messages in client.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.38-11-generic
Compiler: gcc

this significantly hinders the utility of the client
