Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.3) OS: Linux In KDE3 in Konqueror the default behavior for middle click on directory or file was to open it in new window rather then in new tab. For KDE4 Dolphin I would like to have option to choose weather middle clicking a file/dir opens it in a new tab or in a new window. Reproducible: Always
Maybe Dolphin/KDE4/Qt4 doesn't respect the LC_COLLATE system locale?
Disregard that; I've posted this comment to the wrong bug... :/

It is currently pretty inefficient for people who prefer to use windows instead of tabs. You either have to use the toolbar or right-click menu.Q

Thank you for the bug report. As this report hasn't seen any changes in 5 years or more, we ask if you can please confirm that the issue still persists. If this bug is no longer persisting or relevant please change the status to resolved.
Yes, Issue still persists (tested on current Manjaro). No, not relevant anymore since I now had about eleven years to look for another file manager. (Sorry about the tone, but comment #6 reads, even if not intentionally, like pure cynicism. There was time for a major plasma release in the meantime, so...)

As of Dolphin 24.12, this option is still not implemented. Double-clicker do have other way to open a new window (shift double click). But for single-clicker like me, that doesn't work.
