I would like an option to disable the automatic usage of tabs in Dolphin, and instead open a new window whenever currently a new tab would be opened, in particularly when middle-clicking on a folder inside Dolphin - in the main view, - from the places panel, - from the path bar. I find tabs very inconvenient because I want a middle-click-opened folder not replacing what I'm currently seeing, but instead have it open in a separate view so that I can see both side by side, freely arrange the new window and use window management like moving to a different desktop on it. I am surprised that there exist fancy features like tabs and split view but apparently no way to just manage files in ordinary windows. I am aware that I can open a folder in a new window by right-click in the main view or places panel, but this requires more steps and mouse precision, and is not at all available for the path bar. The setting "Settings > Startup > "Open folders in new tabs only applies to files opened from outside Dolphin (https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/scnp1y/dolphin_middleclick_to_open_folder_in_a_new_window/). I would appreciate an extension of this option or a separate one to make middle-click on a folder in Dolphin open a separte Dolphin instance instead of a tab in the current window.
