Using tabs is great for a lot of people, but not everyone likes them.  I think, as an option, it would be nice if users could set middle click to open in a new window instead of a new tab.  

Currently opening a folder in a new window requires using the right-click menu, which makes it a lot less efficient for people who prefer using windows over using tabs.
