Version: (using KDE 4.4.0) OS: Linux Installed from: Ubuntu Packages I have a big ol' error log generated by Akonadi self-test. I just upgraded to KDE 4.4 on Kubuntu 9.10 using the PPA. Here is the log. It is long, but I have been previously asked to post such things in the body of the issue. Please let me know if there is any additional information you want me to provide. You can try this here, maybe it works for you: http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist I have almost the same problem but the solution there doesn't work for me. If it's needed I can provide more details.
Thank you. I believe those steps fixed my Akonadi issue. I am following other steps I found to fix my Nepomuk issue (same page: http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi#Nepomuk_Indexing_Agents_have_been_Disabled). Thanks again! I am taking the liberty to mark this as "RESOLVED/WONTFIX" as these steps are documented as a known issue.
Changing resolution
I need to open this again. The fixes were only a temporary thing and stopped working after a couple of reboots.
After following these steps it works for me now: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/akonadi/+bug/448705/comments/8 Seems to be a problem with apparmor.
Hello again. I do not use apparmor. I have upgraded to Kubuntu 10.04 and my hopes of seeing Akonadi fixed did not come true. I then attempted the steps at this link and matters were only made worse: http://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi_4.4/Troubleshooting#Table_.27mysql._servers.27_doesn.27t_exist I could use Kontact for about 2 minutes, maybe, and then it would freeze. I could use Kmail for about 2 minutes, maybe, and then it would exit with no messages. I will paste the "Akonadi Server Self-Test Report" I was getting after following the steps above. I had to revert them because Kontact/Kmail was unusable. Akonadi Server Self-Test Report =============================== Test 1: SUCCESS -------- Database driver found. Out of curiosity, I checked that link for big 448705 and that configuration was already present. Kontact is now usuable to me. It freezes regularly.

Hej, the problem seems to be a trailing ',' in the sql_mode option in your mysql config file /home/jwheaton/.local/share/akonadi//mysql.conf, as described in http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=79717&start=45 Can you verify that removing the ',' fixes the issue? Ciao, Tobias
