Version: (using KDE 4.3.4) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package When you compare images, it is also nice to have in first place some critical information for each of them. For example the shutter speed, focal length, aperture size, iso speed etc. A nice feature would be to be able to choose which of the exif information you would like to appear (overlay) on top of each image or outside on the left of the images comparing in the light table.
There is the normal sidebar for both displayed images at the left and right. The sidebar can display exif information etc. Isn't that enough?
If i remember, there is already a file like this in bugzilla. Before to add some overlay info in preview, PreviewImage widget need to be ported to pure Qt4. It's done partially by Andi in a separate branch. Code need to be tested indeep. Gilles Caulier
This would be also good, cause you would have the possibility to see the exif information even when you are on the "full screen" mode of the light table....
And tooltips over thumbbar is not enough ? Gilles Caulier
Yes, it is good, but the images are similar, so sometimes it is getting confusing to what image corresponds which exif information... Moreover, if you ever implement the the wishlist 221140 for the ability to compare more than two images, this will be even more confusing.
Still valid in 2.6.0. A nice way would be like feh image viewer have an option to call an external script for display information on pictures (see --info on http://man.finalrewind.org/1/feh/)
still valid in 2.8.0 (kde 4.8.5, lubuntu 12.04 ppa). Related bug 297292 - Display some metadata on pictures in view mode and Bug 302559 - Please show Labels in Preview mode
Seems similar request for light table here: Bug 148572 - show filename with each thumb/image in light table
Created attachment 74768 [details] example of overlay info with feh --info attached an example with feh. would be nice to have this option either in preview or light table (number are just reminder for me of shortcuts to edit corresponding field)
still valid I may have time to dig into this starting next february. If possible, can you point me on the relevant source files or documentation? (define a shortcut, create dialogbox w autosuggestion field) Test on 3.4 (lubuntu 13.10/kde 4.11.3 main install). pending on 3.5(macos 10.9/kde 4.11.4/macports, mostly w network share)(long collection scanning...)
