Description Bryan Stairs 2009-04-29 08:49:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE 4.2.2)
Compiler: Debian/sid
OS: Linux
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

Since upgrading to KDE 4.2.2 the Kmenu Editor has shown the following difficulties, for me. I have no difficulty getting into and modifying the menu as I want. The problem is in trying to save the modifications. The following has happened to me.
1) The save progression bar will get to 20-30% and shut down as though it has completed its job. Going back into kmenu though and I find items randomly rearranged, although occasionally it will do what I want.
2) The save progression bar will get to 100% and go through the cycle again and again. In fact I let it do that for 6 hours until I interrupted the save. At this point I have had submenus and items disappear or reorder themselves and if I go back into kmenu editor I will find almost every submenu I moved have an empty duplicate with a new number after it for each time I tried to do something with it. Deleting those is a hit and miss for being successful at the save.
In a forum they suggested using replace with system menu to get back those items I have lost, which I did successfully, the only thing I had not counted on was losing all my wine items. Is it possible to recover those?
