Version: (using KDE 4.2.2) OS: Linux Installed from: Debian stable Packages When attempting to update bug fixes through KDE control Manager, I received this error: "the backend took too much time to process the synchronous request-you need to fork!" Have no idea what that means. Just recently updated to the latest version of Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope.
This error occurs everytime I try to apply any updates through KDE Control Module. System runs very slow since the update to the latest KDE version and I can't apply any further updates until this bug is somehow resolved. I still don't know "forking" is from the error message.
It appears that updates are installing; I'm just getting the error at the end of the update.
YOu need to report this to Ubuntu as it is the packagekit implementation which is getting the error. KPackageKit only shows the error message. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ Thanks
