Version: 1.0.2 (using 4.0.4 (KDE 4.0.4 >= 20080505) "release 15.1", compiled sources) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.25.9-0.2-default Sometimes I navigate to locations which need root permissions to modify the containing files. So it would be cool to switch Dolphin to "root mode" during browsing the filesystem to be able to modify these files. I know that I could start Dolpin as root, but often I'm not sure from the beginning if the files I want to edit are in a folder which need root permissions.
I agree to your request. This is already possible by providing a corresponding service menu (-> context menu -> open as root), but I did not have the time yet writing this service menu myself. I'll try to add one until KDE 4.2, but it might be possible that someone provides a service menu for this already on www.kde-apps.org :-)
