Version:           unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0) 
OS:                Linux

why is it that yous must hide files that i need to see on my MAC
i cannot open my files because they are locked when i run this software Mandriva 2010

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
cANNNOT see my files on my MAC O/S 

Actual Results:  
look every where 

Expected Results:  
used another softrware

what not put this super user mode where someone can find it  and turn it on when needed

There is the Dolphin 'Root Actions' service menu for this but I'd agree that what it does should be integrated into Dolphin as standard.

YES! I totally agree.
Everyone needs to administrate his system. Adding features to do so in dolphin eases this remarkably, because one does not need to open a terminal simply to modify a file in /etc/ or run an installation script as root.
Further this is similar to how Windows handles admin stuff. As a result, it would greatly easy the switch from Windows users to Linux / KDE.

Now there is dolphin-as-root which is an additional program and can be used from dolphins context menu. Although this has issues at the moment (Bug 365444), I guess this ticket can be closed.
