Description Sander Koning 2006-01-11 17:19:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.0)

I just submitted bug 119930, with component Krita > Usability. (I searched for "Krita" in the component list, then selected the Usability subcomponent.)
When the bug was created, it suddenly got assigned to KChart > usability... Something wrong with the linking of that subcomponent?
Comment 1 Thiago Macieira 2006-01-12 04:01:55 UTC
What, exactly, did you do?

When I try to do that, I see "usability" (lowercase u) in the list, which is the KChart one. There is no list of krita's components anywhere in the bug wizard.
Comment 2 Sander Koning 2006-01-12 07:01:54 UTC
Report a new bug.
On the Application Selection screen, I scrolled down to Keyword Search, and typed "krita" and pressed Search. I then got the list I'll attach as screenshot next.
There are more items in the list that do not purely belong to Krita. But from their descriptions, it's clear what they are. The "usability" component seems to belong to Krita.
What's "worse": there _is_ a usability subcomponent for Krita. See the named bug 119930, which is assigned to it, and https://bugs.kde.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=krita

The same happened to me, but I was filling a report for k3b. I searched for k3b, the "usability" item appeared on the list so I assumed it means k3b/usability. But when I finished reporting, it was assigned to kchart/usability.

The same constantly happening for me when filing bugs against Digikam usability.
Comment 6 Dario Andres 2009-09-11 14:31:39 UTC
The application selector search should show "product/component" instead of "component" alone, to avoid this kind of confusions. Bug 122934 is related to this too.
Comment 7 Dario Andres 2009-09-11 16:36:27 UTC
BTW; should this be merged with bug 50952 ? Thanks
Comment 8 Tom Albers 2013-01-07 19:55:55 UTC
Can someone confirm this can not happen anymore. As far as i can see, you now first select the product and on the next page you select the component, that list is filtered for that product.

Or you are talking about a different page. Let me know.
