Description Tristan Miller 2006-03-01 22:22:53 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

The Query page at <http://bugs.kde.org/query.cgi> does not list a product named "kwallet"; there is only "kwalletmanager". However, if I report a new bug at <http://bugs.kde.org/wizard.cgi>, I get an Application Selection page. If I type "wallet" in the "Keyword Search" box and hit the "Search" button, then the results page's Application List will contain two products: "kwallet" and "kwalletmanager".

I assume there is no such product as "kwallet", so it should not be returned by the Application Selection keyword search.

Problem still exists as of today.

I can confirm this. There are several problems with the Application Selection. When you enter printing in the search field two different "applications" called printing with exact description are returned. You also get kcmprintmgr for which bug reporting is disabled.

Issues with reporting bugs should be fixed by the new bug reporting mechanism being implemented with the upgrade to Bugzilla 3.4.

The application selector search function in the wizard also lists the components of the products. "kwallet" is a component under "kdelibs". This is sometimes misleading as the component name is not shown with the product name; so it can be confusing.
Anyways, the "issue" reported here is more a feature than a bug itself.
Regards

A new method of reporting bugs has been deployed to bugs.kde.org. It should address, in one way or another, some of the various issues around reporting bugs. This issue has been identified as being of those issues resolved by this particular round of changes and is being closed.

Please open a new bug if you have issues with the new way of reporting bugs.
