Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux This may be considered a duplicate of bug #70521. When using the Web Browsing view profile, Konqueror should default to using itself when opening links despite the preferences as set in kcontrol (or wherever), especially when told to open a link in a new tab. Steps to reproduce: Configure KDE to use Mozilla as the default web browser. Open Konqueror, loading it with the Web Browser view profile. Right-click a link and open it in a new tab. Konqui opens a new tab, loads the link in the location bar, then opens the link in Mozilla. Why I think this is *not* a duplicate of 70521 is that Konqui should do one of two things, either open the link in a new Konqueror tab, as it was told, or open the link in the default web browser without opening a new tab in konqueror. While it seems to me that the logical action would be to do as it was told and open the link in a new konqueror tab, opening a new tab, and then opening the link in Mozilla is just wrong (hence it's a bug, while 70521 is a wish list item).
Why it *is* a duplicate of 70521 is that if Konqui had separate, and different, configuration organization and options for each of its profiles, this problem could be solved by being able to have Konqueror set itself as the default browser when the Web Browser view profile is loaded, and Mozilla as the default browser when the File Manager view profile is loaded.
this is a very anoying bug, but does not only affect konqueror - anything which uses khtml do display web content in a new tab: akregator, konqueror, klamav and probably more that i cant think of. it makes using any khtml using app a pain in the arse when using opera as a webbrowser (opera -newpage is my default browser). This is quite possibly the _only_ bug that has bothered me in konqueror since i started using it and still does.
This bug still exists in KDE 3.5.0.
