Version: (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc 3.3.1 mdk OS: Linux There are several options that are common that could be used differntly depending on the view profile. On example is "object oriented mode" (open folders in new window). One could want that for file management but not for web browsing. Another example are tab options: I would like to open tabs on the background for web browsing, but not for file management. I like different default fonts for ech view profile. Also, the configuration options should be divided between web-browsing, file management and other options, so it would be easier to find the desired option. This is not some trivial stuff: this leads to a more clear specialization for konqueror. I think this is an improvement. I like the technology that allows you to do whatever you want inside konqueror, but some more specialization in needed to compete with file manager / browser combo. There are tons of bugs and wishes in the database that could be considered special cases of this one.
I think this whould be great. personally, I want to let middle mous button open folders, files and links (!) all in a background tab. now, folders and links are opened in a tab, but files are opened in a seperate program.
Is this same as: konqueror file browsing and konqueror web browsing should use different konqueror.rc files by default. There is no need for edit / move rename entry, while browsing. According to http://www.userinstinct.com/viewpost.php?postid=kde33review most new users think konqueror file manager has too much options. My suggestion: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=18412 and http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=18154 . This is just a suggestion. I could not find a way to move some menus (i.e. tools).
