Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: Unspecified OS: Linux hi it would be nice if kget supported multiple threads and automatic mirror management with auto switching to the fastest connections at that time. mirrors can be found out from filemirrors.com regards rahul sundaram
I agree. At least there should be an option to add multiple mirrors manually, because otherwise the download does not progress anymore when the current mirror becomes slow or is down.

Yes! That's the only thing kget is missing and that's a big minus. But this might be my opinion. Also (Admins) these are duplicate I think: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74874 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81483

Hi its a goal to upgrade kget to use qt4? becouse I have made a multithreaded dowloader in qt4 that allow me to download files up to 10 simultaneus parts using http or ftp. and may be added to kget. As la library maybe?? I'm working in the mirrows part. Manolo Valdes
There's an almost rewritten KGet2 in work. http://websvn.kde.org/branches/work/make_kget_cool/ Multithreaded downloads are on our TODO list. But it's not implemented yet. KGet2 is plugin based. So you can easily add a new plugin. Is your downloader KIO based? It would be great if you can implement multithreaded downloads and mirror support. For more information use our mailing list: kget @ kde.org. We are very interested in your work ;)
Any update on this yet ? Will Kget2 replace Kget ?
KGet2 is already back in trunk (KDE 4) and replaces the KGet from KDE 3.
