Version: v0.8.3 (using KDE 3.2.0, compiled sources) Compiler: gcc version 3.2.3 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.22 I wish that KGet should break a big file into multiple chunks and download with different threads. If a files is broken into 5 parts then 5 threads will download it. Flashget http://www.flashget.com (for windows) is such one application which do multithreaded (splitted file) downloading. The advantage is that the big files get downloaded quickly. about 200% improvement in downloading. Thank you.
I'd like it even more if you had the option to download a file with different chunks comming from different servers. In getright the program would even find such servers for you. it would be *really* cool if that were implemented. Thanks
Please search before you post a new wish/bug. There are about 4 wishes for the same request (multithreaded downloading). This doesn't help the bugs' system. The first (based on date) post is here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62371 I'm not an admin nor a developer just a user.
