Compiler:          gcc version 3.2
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-4GB

Dear friends

The MacOS menubar needs some more functions just like the KDE-task/panel bar for example:
- time / date (and alarm)
- wheater
- soundcontrol (and mute button)
- Active application indicator - little icon perhaps
- An option to switch to the desktop menu

Time:      because my boss thinks that I should go home at 17:00 (in time)
Wheater: because I live in the Netherlands (Amsterdam)
Soundcontrol: Nice to have
Active application indicator - So I can flush the right project files
Desktop menu - So I don't have to scroll or minimize the active application when I want to select Chess

The KDE - task/panel bar is very nice because you have made it configurable with applets;
Can't you implement these MacOS requests also with the code you already have????

This sounds a bit like bloat to me.  We provide this elsewhere already.

This is being worked on, just the other sane way around (applet swallowing the menu).
