Description ray 2002-12-10 03:57:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc-2.96
OS: Linux

When running Novell ConsoleOne 1.3.3, click NDS on left, then 'NDS Authenticate' button. The auth screen pops up for a minute then disappears. the rest of the icons/menus do not respond as if the auth screen were still in the foreground, (but it is not visible). ConsoleOne is not usable because of this.

Tried with ConsoleOne 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 with KDE 3.1 RC2 and RC5, running ConsoleOne locally or remotely. Works fine with KDE 3.0.x, or another window manager. Believe it's a KDE 3.1 bug....

I can confirm this bug with the following versions: KDE 3.1 final (kde-redhat
builds) with ConsoleOne 1.3.4. The problem is not just ConsoleOne. I have other
java applications that have the same behavior. I vaguely remember a non Java
application with the same problem, can't remember the name :(

Where can I download one of the applications that doesn't work?

For you convenience I have prepared a short html page at this location:

http://www.coderspotting.org/ConsoleOneKDE/

It also includes all the files to download (so you don't have to go through the registration/download
hassle) with instructions on how to install them and how to reproduce the bug.

If necessary, you can contact me through this bug or directly at bderidder@novell.com (yes, I
work for Novell ;))

This is a duplicate of #52206, for some weird reason Java maps the window, unmaps
immediately and maps again. It should be fixed with KDE3.1.1.
