Using the KDE RPM packages from http://kde-redhat.sf.net I have noted this behavior using Novell ConsoleOne or any other java application. When ConsoleOne opens a login dialog, you see the dialog appear (correctly sized) for a short time and then it disappears. The main frame of ConsoleOne still behaves as if the dialog is still there. Somehow KWin must throw the dialog away or something like that ...

I have the same behavior using a Java installer program. The only way I could use any of the two applications was to start a second X session with another window manager.
