Description David 2008-01-28 15:20:20 UTC
Version: svn (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

As I saw in bug #156428 the <kde4 function of a Desktop folder has been deprecated in plasma, I see it OK, but not all of those things should be deprecated.

In case of this bug, selecting multiple plasmoids arround the Desktop is a usefull thing. If I click and move mouse, I can see the "selection rectangle" but plasmoids are not selected.

Is this intentional, or is not implemented yet?

Not implemented yet.

I am changing this to a bug, as this is the expected behavior from the desktop, especially since the cursor draws a rectangle over the icons. Moreover ctrl-clicking on an icon should select it and not activate it.
Comment 7 Stephan Binner 2008-04-06 18:45:04 UTC
Changing bug to wish as it's not implemented, the useless rectangle has been removed (bug 157594).
Comment 8 Jason Stubbs 2008-05-25 04:11:36 UTC
Assuming this is pertaining only to desktop icons, the folder view fixes this. I can't think of any need to select multiple or even single generic applets...
Comment 9 Jörg Hermsdorf 2008-05-25 11:31:37 UTC
I second that. Selecting multiple plasmoids should _ONLY_ affect icon plasmoids.
Comment 10 Jason Stubbs 2008-06-01 05:56:40 UTC
With 4.1 just around the corner, it's time to close off 4.0 bugs. In the off chance that I'm wrong in believing this to be fixed in 4.1, please reopen. :)
