Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs OS: Linux When I want to check the spelling of latex files with some characters with accent ("é", "è"...), the spell checker cut the word, for instance, for the word "véhicules", it will tell me that "hicules" is mispelled (which is true btw ;) ), there is no problem whitin a normal text file. I use ispell as a spellchecker.

A similar issue has been reported, and reassigned to kdelibs/kspell. This seems to be a copy. What are the chances of this beeing fixed prior to the 3.4 release? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 86940 ***
I am not sure about that, my bug happens only when spellchecking a latex file, whether it is utf8 or iso8859-x. But I will wait and see if correction 86940 correct this one too.
Hi Cyrille Berger, KDE 3.3.2? I guess you are using Cooker, aren't you? If yes, please have a look at BR#13749 at qa.mandrakesoft.com. There are RPMS of kdelibs with a fix I built for Cooker. Please give a try and report. BTW, I used it to spellcheck French LaTex document. Please have a look at the attached screenshot. It seems it is ok, spellchecker did not complain about "véhicules". Note, in control center I set UTF-8, ASpell, and French dictionary.

it's working with aspell but not with ispell.
