Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6) OS: Linux If Kaddressbook does not close fast enough during log out, prompting KDE to pop up the "should I kill this application" box, and KDE subsequently closes the application forcefully as part of the logout process (regardless of answer), the Kaddressbook contact list could be lost. The resulting vcf file is 0 bytes. This could be a timing issue based on a race condition on a loaded system. It is difficult (but not impossible) to duplicate. I managed to find a backup of the address book (std.vcf_1) and copy it back into place. I have not yet determined if any data was lost.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4. Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
