Description Ramesh Indhewat 2004-09-27 01:44:09 UTC
Version: 0.5 (using KDE 3.2.1, SuSE)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 (SuSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.5-7.108-default

Running SuSE 9.1 Personal
After adding a new item to a top-level ("Internet") menu, I noticed that after exiting the Menu Editor that the icons in the menu now appear twice. Also, returning to the menu editor, I can no longer edit the menu.

Workaround: I added a bogus menu item and immediately deleted it, then saved the menu. Now everything is back to normal - icons appear just once.

Running SuSE 9.1 Professional
Had the exact same problem when adding an item to the "Multimedia" menu. I followed the workaround suggestion and it got rid of the excess menu items as stated.

I experienced a similar bug in SuSE 9.2 Pro after adding two more Multimedia programs with YAST. My entire Mutimedia menu has two icon listings for each item below the audio player. The Menu Editor only shows each item once.

Trying the above workaround did not change anything.

I cannot reproduce this in KDE 4. Please reopen if you can. KDE 3 is no longer being developed.

Sorry nobody triaged this for so long.

106858 indicates this was fixed a long time ago.
