I've bound CTRL-SHIFT-[ArrowKey] for my desktop switching for Up, Down, Left and Right. After running for a time, the pager will stop updating, and won't show me the proper desktop I'm on, and will also stop doing previews. The taskbar as well will seem to stop updating. Removing them both from kicker and reloading them fixes the problem, but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have to do that. It may also be unrelated, but I'll note in case it is that when I change a desktop background kicker's transparency doesn't always refresh. It uses the old background. In the case this was related to kicker, I thought I'd mention it. What also may be unrelated, and maybe not, is that when I use the common shortcut Alt-F2 right after I start KDE it appears on the desktop I'm on, but every subsequent use of it displays it on that desktop. I had to hack it by setting the window behavior, and I'm not sure if this is part and parcel of this bug, but it's more information. Well, that's all I can give you, but I find anything else of use I'll be sure to update this.
