Description Eduardo Robles Elvira 2004-08-23 16:11:44 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Many kicker applets don't update when quicklaunch apple is active.

This is a REGRESSION, as it worked fine just before updating from SuSE's suplied kde 3.2 in SuSE 9.1. prof.

How to reproduce:

1. add to a panel the quick launch applet (right-click > add > applets > Quick Launcher).

2. After a while, or after restarting session, none of the next plugins are updated any more: taskbar, systray, menu (if you have mac os x like menu activated and add as an applet to a panel), sometimes the "show desktop" special button does also stop working properly.

What I mean with "none of the next plugins are updated" ? I mean that if you open an app, it's not showed in the taskbar, if you open a docked app it's not showed in the systray, if you change form an app to other, the ( maco os x like) menu is not updated, etc.

Workaround: eliminate the "Quick Launcher" applet from your tasks bars and restart kicker/kde to get everything working.

Note that I don't know if there are more applets that also stop working because of this problem, neither if there is another applet that also make the other stop receiving signals.
