Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.0) Installed from: Gentoo Packages An IRC server I've been using wont let me connect these days. But Kopete won't stop trying. Going offline on IRC only stops it for some seconds, then it tries again.
For those who are interested, this is not a duplicate of #84513 - setting IRC offline should stop the autoreconnect stuff (does this work on other protocols?)
no, it doesn't work on other protocols.

Didn't Richard say that this is not a duplicate of 84513? Also, newer bugs should be closed as duplicates of older ones, not the other way around.
I could confirm this bug with Kopete 0.9.0. It's even more worse as described above cause every time the reconnecting fails a messagebox pops up saying that connecting failed. So, after trying one time to connect to IRC and it fails someone have to restart Kopete to get those each seconds appearing modal messagebox away. That's special very bad if you are already connected to some other Server cause you have top leave the rooms/close the connections, restart and relogin :(
I have to add, that the described behaviour at comment #5 is somewhat related to whislist-report #87320 except that the reconnecting is done, but the modal messagebox still shows up on each failed reconnect.
